The roadster with the famous concave hardtop, and the one we would pick if the car has to appear in the photographs rather than just get someone there. It is small, it is elegant, and it reads instantly as “old Mercedes” even to people who know nothing about cars.

Best for: a corporate event, a product launch or an anniversary, anywhere a bright red muscle car would be the wrong note.
Tucked in among the Mercedes was a first-generation Mustang, the car that started the pony-car era. After three examples of German restraint it is a reminder that this collection has more range than you would assume.
Best for: a shoot that needs swagger instead of elegance. It is the one most likely to get borrowed by a music video, and the one that will not be comfortable in a three-piece suit in July.

Confirm a driver is included, and that he will be in something other than shorts.
