1. About Pistons.AE
Pistons.AE ("Pistons", "we", "us") is an online classifieds platform based in the United Arab Emirates. We let private sellers and dealers list cars and car parts for sale, provide a community-rated directory of garages, and host forums and automotive news. Pistons is a venue: we connect buyers and sellers, but we are not a party to any sale, we do not own or inspect the items listed, and we do not charge commission on transactions.
2. Accepting these terms
By browsing Pistons.AE, creating an account, posting a listing, leaving a review, or using the site in any way, you agree to these Terms of Use and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the site. You must be at least 18 years old to create an account or post a listing.
3. Your account
- You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for all activity under your account.
- Information you provide (name, contact details) must be accurate and kept up to date.
- One person or business per account. Accounts may not be sold or transferred.
- Dealers and businesses must identify themselves as such when listing (using the "Dealer / showroom" option).
4. Listings (cars & parts)
- You may only list vehicles and parts that you own or are legally authorised to sell.
- Listings must be accurate and not misleading — including price, condition, mileage, history (e.g. accident or flood damage), and photos of the actual item.
- Listings are free. We may remove, edit, or decline any listing that breaches these terms, is suspected to be fraudulent, is a duplicate, or is in the wrong category.
- Sold or expired items should be marked as sold or removed promptly.
- You are responsible for complying with all UAE laws applicable to your sale, including vehicle transfer, registration, and roadworthiness requirements.
5. Buying & selling
All transactions happen directly between buyer and seller. Pistons does not handle payments, escrow, shipping, inspections, or vehicle transfers, and we make no guarantee about any listing, seller, or buyer. We strongly recommend that you:
- Inspect any vehicle or part in person before paying;
- Meet in safe, public locations;
- Verify the seller's identity and the vehicle's documents (Mulkiya, service history) before transferring money;
- Never send deposits or payments to sellers you have not met or items you have not seen.
Any dispute arising from a sale is between the buyer and the seller.
6. Garage directory & reviews
- The garage directory lists independent businesses. A listing in the directory is not an endorsement, and "featured" placement is a promotional position, not a quality guarantee.
- Reviews and ratings must reflect genuine personal experience. Fake reviews, review trading, or reviewing your own business (or a competitor's) is prohibited.
- Garages may respond to reviews. We may remove reviews that are abusive, defamatory, off-topic, or that we reasonably believe to be inauthentic.
7. Forums & community content
Our forums and communities are for automotive discussion. Keep it civil: no harassment, hate speech, doxxing, spam, or repeated self-promotion. Moderators may remove content or restrict accounts that break these rules or UAE law.
8. Prohibited use
You must not:
- Post stolen goods, counterfeit parts, or vehicles with tampered identification (VIN/chassis);
- Misrepresent an item's condition, history, or ownership;
- Use the site for any unlawful purpose under UAE law;
- Scrape, harvest, or bulk-collect listings, user data, or contact details;
- Circumvent or interfere with the site's security or functionality;
- Impersonate another person or business.
9. Your content & our rights
You keep ownership of the content you post (photos, descriptions, reviews, forum posts). By posting, you grant Pistons a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to display, reproduce, and promote that content on the platform and in connection with the platform (for example, showing your listing in search results or featuring it on our pages and social channels). You confirm you have the rights to everything you upload. All Pistons branding, design, and software remain our property.
10. Disclaimers & liability
The site is provided "as is". To the maximum extent permitted by UAE law:
- We make no warranties about the accuracy of listings, reviews, or any user content;
- We are not liable for losses arising from transactions between users, from reliance on user content, or from site downtime or errors;
- Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law.
11. Suspension & termination
We may suspend or terminate accounts, and remove content, where we reasonably believe these terms or the law have been breached — with or without notice depending on severity. You may delete your account at any time by contacting us.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The effective date above shows the latest revision. Continued use of the site after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated terms. For material changes, we will make reasonable efforts to notify users.
13. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the United Arab Emirates. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Dubai, UAE.
