In the wider market, cars roughly 25 years and older are commonly listed as classic or “modern classic”, which is why you’ll see 25+ year-old icons here alongside older vintage cars.
A classic (brown) plate is optional, not mandatory. Eligible 30+ year-old cars can be registered on a classic plate after an RTA technical inspection at selected Tasjeel centres, but many classics in the UAE run on standard plates instead.
